New Crochet Tutorial: Multistrand crocheted bracelets are fast and easy to make! Written for the beginning crocheter, this is also a great tutorial for all crochet skill levels as many variations can be made Jodi's favorite variation is without beads, with two colors craft wire crocheted together. Book Release: - Jewels By Jules is very excited to announce the release of Wire Style 50 Unique Jewelry Designs. Denise Peck, Editor of Step By Step Wire Jewelry, invited Jodi and six other designers to participate in the collaboration of the book which gives the book a great versatility in style and ideas and with projects ranging from beginner to advanced, there is something for everyone! The book starts out with a large section describing wire, tools, and techniques. The techniques section includes not only step by step instructions for making loops, wrapped loops and many more techniques but also includes step by step pictures for the techniques.

Each project has step by step instructions with photos of the finished jewelry. Also, listed in the back of the book is a list of suppliers along with pictures and bios of all contributing artists. Your copy of the book can be ordered at Amazon or can most likely be picked up at your local bookstore - Jodi saw early release copies at Barnes & Noble.

Newly Added Items - Jewels By Jules has recently added several new items including leather cord bracelets, wire wrapped bracelets and leather cord necklaces. Also added were additional colors of Greek leather cords. In addition to black Greek leather cord, we now have brick red, off white, chocolate brown and tan suede - something for everyone!

BeJuled™ Toggles/Pendants I am very excited about these wire wrapped toggles/pendants as the idea has been brewing for a long time so I finally took the leap and came up with these bedazzling beauties. The idea came from this bracelet that I designed about a year ago. I love to create unique handcrafted jewelry by utilizing a free form style and these toggles/pendants definitely fall into that category!

What exactly is a toggle and if it is a toggle, how can it be a pendant?

Toggle:   A toggle is a type of clasp for a bracelet or necklace. If you are a designer and want very unique toggles to add the finishing touches to your designs, try BeJuled™ Toggles. This watch has a matching BeJuled™ Toggle.

Jewels by Jules in Step by Step Wire Magazine

Jewels By Jules has been published several times in Step By Step Wire Magazine. On page 49 of the Fall 2006 edition you will find our Geometric Bracelet. We love the color layout and design that Step by Step chose - it looks great! On page 25 of the Winter 2007 issue is our Wire Crochet Pearl Bracelet. If you cannot obtain copies of these old issues, the tutorials can be purchased on our blog, Wire Wrapping Tutorials and Helpful Hints.

Jules has also been published in the Spring and Summer 2007 issues. On page 26 of the Spring issue, is the Wire Wrapped Peruvian Opal Bracelet. This is a beginner's project and will soon be a low cost tutorial on our blog. In the Summer 2007 issue on page 32, is the Spiral Hook & Leather Ends tutorial. This is a free tutorial on our blog and is titled How to Wire Wrap Leather Ends.

Step By Step Wire magazine is a great magazine for beginning, intermediate, and advanced wire wrappers. The magazine features tutorial articles by well-known artists as well as the beginner with unique handcrafted jewelry being the focal point of the magazine. They recently published a chain mail edition, too, and sometimes they have articles with light soldering involved so they are covering all aspects of wire wrapped jewelry and a bit of silversmithing.

Custom Orders Custom orders are gladly accepted on our jewelry except for closeout jewelry. Contact Jodi with the item number and what material you would like the piece made with. Jodi will email you back and let you know if your request can be met and when the jewelry will be completed. A custom ordered piece of jewelry of any style can take up to two weeks to complete, depending on orders pending at the time your order is received by Jewels By Jules. If you have a particular date you need your order, please indicate the date in your email and Jodi will let you know if your order can be completed at your requested time. A down payment of 50% is due at the time your order is confirmed with the remaining balance due when the watch is completed and ready to be shipped.

Note Regarding Argentium Silver Argentium silver contains 92.5% silver, the same as sterling silver. The difference between the two types of silver wire is the copper. Sterling silver is made with 7.5% copper. Argentium has replaced copper with germanium. Copper is the tarnishing factor in sterling silver so with this eliminated, the inventors of Argentium have created a virtually tarnish free silver. As our supply of sterling silver wire is being used up, it is being replaced by Argentium.
